OHSU

When I use Firefox, I get an error when I try to paste text into the rich text editor. How do I fix this?

If you work in CommonSpot with Firefox, you may have noticed you get an error when you try to paste text into the rich text editor with keyboard shortcuts.

There's a manual fix for this, but it requires editing a javascript file that comes with FF. Not ideal.

Firefox version 3.xx users: Update your Clipboard Helper plug-in here

  • Install the plugin
  • Go to the 'Tools' section of the menu bar
  • Select 'Allow Clipboard helper'
  • Set the server address to authoring.ohsu.edu.
  • After restarting Firefox, you should be able to copy and paste into the Rich Text Editor.

Older Versions of Firefox

This Firefox add-on will edit the javascript file for you - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/852. It just requires one quick additional step to configure.

2. Close and re-open Firefox
3. Go to Tools > Allow Clipboard Helper
4. Add the server name: http://authoring.ohsu.edu
5. Close and re-open Firefox
