How Do I Update the Horizontal Navigation?
Improvements were made to the performance of the linkbar and page indexes that drive the horizontal navigation on alternate layout pages. We are now caching the content of the navs in application memory and displaying them from cache. What this means is the page indexes contained in each section of the navigation do not run when the cache for a page within that section's subsite is invalidated. In other words, making changes to your pages will not cause the nav to rebuild itself on the next page load.
Unless told not to (using a url parameter), the pages will display whatever nav is cached in memory. This is much, much faster.
To update & reset your horizontal navs, add the url parameter "?resetmenus=true" to the url in your browser's address bar for each affected subsite.
