How to use an Outlook form sent to you
- Double-click the attached form and select Open. A warning dialog appears.
- Go ahead and trust me and click OK. The ITG Training Room Request form appears.
- To use the form, you must first save it as an Outlook template. Click the Office button and choose Save As.
Note: If you want to add your standard information to step #3 before saving, feel free. Just don't delete anything.
- In the Save As dialog, change the 'Save as type:" to Outlook Template (*.oft).
- Give the form a name and click on Save.
- Next, you need to publish the form. Click on the Developer tab and select Publish Form As…
Note: If you don't see the Developer tab, click the Office button, Editor Options button, and check Show Developer tab in Ribbon. - Select the "Personal Forms Library" folder and type a Display name (same name you used to save the form if you like).
- Click on Publish.
- Close the form.
To use your new form
- From Outlook, select File > New > Choose Form
- Select the "Personal Forms Library" folder, select your form, and click Open.
- Enter subject (course name), location, and the information in step #3.
- Click on Scheduling, list the desired training room resources, locate free times and send the appointment request.
You will get an auto-reply from the training room resource, if there is no conflict and you used the form to schedule. You will get an appointment acceptance from IT Training within 24 hours.
