Wireless cards
The following wireless cards (NICs) are supported at OHSU.
Apple
- Apple Airport 2.0 wireless card (OS X)
Note: Apple Airport will only function in non-clinical areas due to additional security enhancements employed throughout the hospital and the clinics. When running on systems using Jaguar, it is viable in non-clinical areas that are set to use slightly lighter security mechanisms; when running on systems using Panther, it should work in all of these areas.
PC
- Cisco Aironet PC352 PCMCIA wireless cards
- Cisco Aironet CB21AG PCMCIA wireless cards (supports all three 802.11 specifications A/B/G)
- Intel Centrino, models : 2100 3b, 2200BG, 2915ABG, 3945ABG, and 4965AGN (integrated into many new laptops and tablets – earlier Centrino version NICs may not work)
Others not supported
Any wireless unit which is not on the list above is neither recommended nor supported.
