Clinical Radiation Safety Committee

This committee oversees the clinical functions of the Radiation Safety Office. Members review and authorize the medical and dental uses of radiation machines and radioactive materials in OHSU hospitals and clinics, ensuring that OHSU is in compliance with state and federal regulations, and health care accreditation guidelines.
Environment of Care Committee

This group meets monthly to ensure adherence to Environment of Care standards set forth by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Laser Safety Committee

This committee is a subset of the OHSU Safety Committee. Members review the medical use of laser equipment in OHSU hospitals and clinics, ensuring that OHSU is in compliance with state and federal regulations, and health care accreditation guidelines.
Research Radiation Safety Committee

This group promotes best practices in the use of ionizing radiation on the OHSU Marquam Hill campus. The RSC oversees the Radiation Safety Officer. Members serve to review and authorize proposed uses of ionizing radiation sources, as well as oversee the research-related operations of the Radiation Safety Office.
OHSU Safety Committee

This group reviews general safety concerns throughout OHSU's Marquam Hill Campus and offsite locations. Addressed issues tend to be broad in scope, including pedestrian safety, area lighting, and other topics. Membership includes management and AFSCME and ONA employees and labor representatives, and it is the designated OHSU group that fulfills OSHA Safety Committee requirements.
West Campus Research Radiation Safety Committee

West Campus Safety Committee & School of Science & Engineering (SoSE) Safety Committee

These committees provide a forum for employees to express safety related concerns. Each consists of Environmental Health & Radiation Safety staff members, at least one faculty or staff member from each academic department, representatives from Facilities Services, and at least one student representative.
