Environmental Health & Radiation Safety

The fundamental purpose of Environmental Health and Radiation Safety (EHRS), as part of the OHSU Integrity Program, is to provide technical guidance and safety services to all OHSU operations including academics, health care, research, and administration.

Goal and Service

Environmental Health & Radiation Safety is committed to providing excellent service to all OHSU operations. 

EHRS staff members can answer questions and concerns regarding various aspects of occupational safety:

  • Air quality
  • Water quality
  • Biological, chemical and radiation usage
  • Waste minimization, handling and disposal
  • Safety, health and and operational regulations
  • Training and education

Emergency Response

Emergency response personnel are available 24 hours a day to respond to chemical or radioactive spills and mitigation of other hazardous situations.
