OHSU

Labor Management Committee

The Labor Management Committee (LMC) is an innovative and collaborative partnership between OHSU and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Local 328, which represents more than 5,300 employees across OHSU. The LMC was established as a part of the 2009-2012 collective bargaining agreement between OHSU and AFSCME, with the goal to create and sustain a positive work environment where employees and OHSU can excel. Its 12 members - six AFSCME-represented employees and six OHSU managers from each mission area - were appointed through a comprehensive selection process in April 2010. The group learned and used an interest-based problem solving approach to develop a program plan to address three focus areas: employee development, workplace performance (process) improvement, and conflict management.
