OHSU provides employees a hard copy SoE each pay period.
Understanding Your Earnings Statement
GROSS PAY
The IRS dictates that employer paid benefit contributions are taxable income and thus are included in gross pay. Offsetting health care deductions are pre-tax, which reduces the taxable income.
LEAVE ACCRUALS
Hourly employees' vacation and sick time earnings are accrued based on the number of hours an employee works in a pay period. The amount earned each pay period may fluctuate depending on number of hours actually worked.
