The expo includes lectures, discussions and workshops covering:
- Current and future treatments for age-related macular degeneration.
- Tips for making the most of remaining vision.
- Exploring the accessibility features of smart phones, tablets and adaptive devices and products that can assist people with vision loss.
Keynote speaker, Sonja Connor, M.S., R.D., L.D., president of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an associate professor of medicine (endocrinology, diabetes and clinical nutrition) in the OHSU School of Medicine, will share the latest science on nutrition and eye health, including how healthy eating may prevent or slow macular degeneration.
Exhibits featuring vision aids, assistive technology and helpful resources and services will be open all day. Exhibit partners include nonprofit agencies and organizations that serve seniors and people with vision loss.
