Annual OHSU Brain Fair
10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014
The auditorium at Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, 1945 S.E. Water Ave., Portland
The free event is open to the public. No museum admission is required to attend. The Brain Fair is one of the largest in the nation and is a major event in the OHSU Brain Institute’s annual Brain Awareness Season.
This year’s Brain Fair will include interactive exhibits, real human and animal brains, prizes and dozens of OHSU Brain Institute neuroscientists explaining and demonstrating their groundbreaking research in a way that will be fascinating for all ages. People will be able to buy low-cost bicycle helmets, test their memory skills, learn about safe and unsafe decibel levels, and use special “impairment” goggles to learn about the effects of alcohol. Attendees of the fair also can get information on discounted tickets for OHSU’s Brain Awareness lecture series.
