This Year’s Dairy Queen “Miracle Treat Day” Poised to Push Total Donations to Doernbecher Over the Million-Dollar Mark
08/04/09 Portland, Ore.
Mark your calendar and save your appetite for Thursday, Aug. 13, when Dairy Queen stores in Portland, southwest Washington and across the nation will present the fourth annual “Miracle Treat Day.”
For every Blizzard treat purchased on that day, participating Portland-area Dairy Queens will donate $1 or more to Doernbecher. This year's Miracle Treat Day is expected to result in an important milestone for the Portland-area program, as cumulative donations to Doernbecher are likely to surpass the $1 million threshold.
Nationwide, the program raised $4.5 million for 170 CMN hospitals last year. All money raised was given to the local CMN hospital.
This year's Miracle Treat Day will get a special boost as Dairy Queen brings back the Girl Scouts Thin Mint Cookie Blizzard, DQ's most popular limited-time-offer Blizzard ever. The Thin Mint Cookie Blizzard is made with creamy DQ vanilla soft serve blended with Girl Scout Thin Mint Cookie pieces and a Crème de Menthe topping.
