Sixth Annual Radiothon Raises Support And Funds For Kids At Doernbecher

The sixth annual 99.5 FM "The Wolf's Hunt for a Cure Radiothon" will be held March 23 and 24 to benefit Doernbecher Children's Hospital. The fund-raising event is presented by the financial-services provider Foresters.
The radiothon will be broadcast live from the Doernbecher lobby from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on March 23 and 24. On-air interviews with young patients and their families will underscore Doernbecher's unique role as the state's most comprehensive source of care for hospitalized children. Organizers hope to top last year's total of $384,000 in pledges in support of the hospital, which provides primary and specialized care to more than 56,500 young patients each year from Oregon, southwest Washington and beyond. Doernbecher is nationally recognized for its programs in pediatric heart surgery, neurosurgery and cancer. More than 80 percent of Oregon kids with cancer come to Doernbecher for their care.
