Full-text, Internet-based Library Resources Now Available to All Oregon Nurses
01/27/03 Portland, Ore.
Any nurse registered in Oregon has free access to a 12-volume nursing library and other resources through the Web
The purpose of the 18-month grant is to determine the usefulness of such a resource for nurses in various settings and specialties. The grant will also test the feasibility of this type of statewide coverage and help provide any Oregon nurse with easy access to evidence-based practice resources. The OHSU Library has already established a similar arrangement for Oregon physicians, funded through license fees, allowing physician access to another Internet-based, full-text library.
The library will also make other databases and information resources available online, including more than 130 journals. For information or on-site demonstrations, please contact Steve Teich, coordinator for Outreach Services in the OHSU Library at 503 494-3444. Beginning Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, registration and information will be available online at www.ohsu.edu/library/nurses.
