OHSU Teams Up With American Stroke Association, Other Area Hospitals for Stroke Forum

What:Oregon Health & Science University has teamed up with the American Stroke Association, Legacy Health System and Providence Health System for the Stroke Awareness Forum, an educational seminar designed to promote a better understanding of stroke, a leading cause of disability and the nation's third leading killer. The forum features speakers who will discuss stroke warning signs, risk factors, treatment, care and the latest medical breakthroughs. Each participant will receive a voucher for a free stroke screening by HealthCheck Screening, Inc.
Who:The forum is free and open to the public.
Scheduled to speak are:
- Helmi Lutsep, M.D., associate director of the Oregon Stroke Center at OHSU
- Paul Ash, M.D., medical director of the Comprehensive Stroke Program at Legacy Meridian Park Hospital
- Ted Lowenkopf, M.D., medical director of the Providence Stroke Center at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center
- Roger Simon, M.D., director of the Robert S. Dow Neurobiology Research Laboratories, located in the Legacy Clinical Research and Technology Center
