First Baby of New Year Born at OHSU Hospital

As champagne corks popped and choruses of Auld Lang Syne poured forth, Vyviannie Ivette Rodriguez came into the world. Vyviannie (pr. Viv-ee-a-ni) was the first baby born in Portland in 2001, delivered at exactly 12:00 a.m. at OHSU Hospital at Oregon Health Sciences University.

Vyviannie and her mother, Adamelys (pr. A-tha-may-lees) Rodriguez, will be available to the media at 11 a.m., Monday, at OHSU Hospital.

Vyviannie was 6 pounds, 9 ounces and 19-1/2 inches long at birth. She is the first child of Adamelys, 17, who lives in Portland.
