"Le Bal Des Petits Lits Blancs," produced by Serge D'Rovencourt and co-chaired by Oregon's first lady Sharon Kitzhaber and Julie Neupert Stott, promises to be the fete of the season. The gala will be held on May 25 at 6 p.m. in the Hilton-Portland Grand Ballroom. Proceeds from the event will benefit Oregon Health Sciences University's Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

Honorary co-chairs for this event will be Senator and Mrs. Andre Maman of France, as well as the Count and Countess Audoin de Dampierre, all of whom will be flying in from France for the occasion.

"Le Bal Des Petits Lits Blancs" in English means "Gala of the Small White Beds." This name originated in France in 1919 and, under the presidency of Baroness Seilliere, became the name for international events dedicated to helping children.

The event includes beautiful favors, cocktails, exquisite dining and dancing. Diamond patron tickets are $500, patrons $250 and individual tickets $175.
