OHS Foundation Trustees Announce Two Key Appointments
10/26/99 Portland, Ore.The trustees of Oregon Health Sciences Foundation voted on Oct. 19 to appoint Jonathan Ulsh as president of the foundation. Ulsh has been serving as executive director of Doernbecher Children's Hospital Foundation since Dec. 1998. Prior to that, he served as a senior-level development officer with Scripps Institutions of Medicine and Science in San Diego.
"Jonathan Ulsh possesses considerable expertise in the full spectrum of development activities," says George J. Passadore, chairman of the OHS Foundation board of trustees and president, Northwest region, Wells Fargo Bank. In less than a year, Jon has made enormous strides on the behalf of Doernbecher Children¹s Hospital where he crystallized their mission to substantially improve the health of every child in our region by the year 2010. He has also secured six- and seven-figure commitments from local organizations that will help realize that mission." By expanding his oversight to encompass fund development for the many different clinical, research and educational programs of Oregon Health Sciences University, all those areas will benefit from his forward-thinking vision."
Also joining the OHS Foundation is Barbara Mahoney, who will fill the position of senior vice president for development. Mahoney comes to the OHS Foundation from Willamette University where she was the senior development officer.
Mahoney will be responsible for integrating a broad range of fundraising programs that are divided among a staff of more than 20 development officers. Directly reporting to Mahoney will be the director of donor relations, the director of planned giving and the directors of development representing the various campus programs.
OHS Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, public benefit corporation that provides support for Oregon Health Sciences University's education, research and patient care programs as well as medical research programs throughout Oregon.
