Procedures
Here are some of the standard operating procedures for the primate center’s Behavioral Sciences Unit.
The unit is charged with ensuring that the animals psychological needs are met. The group also finds unique methods for promoting behaviors found in the wild such as foraging. The group also conducts research to constantly improve the care of animals in captivity at OHSU and elsewhere.
What are they?
Standard Operating Procedures detail the way in which we do things at the Oregon National Primate Research Center. They provide employees with a clear set of directions for doing their jobs in the safest, most efficient way.
What do they show?
These records show the tremendous amount of time and effort that is dedicated to ensuring the well-being of our animals. The records also show the high level of training required by staff members who care for animals.
