When scientia medica continuet was inscribed above the doorway of OHSU’s main library, Oregon Health & Science University as we know it today didn’t exist. No one knew that the state’s first medical school would become a profoundly complex institution with two teaching hospitals; graduate schools of medicine, nursing, dentistry, and engineering; and clinical and research centers making exceptional contributions to knowledge. The bold motto anticipated this evolution, just as it foretells a future of opportunity. Today this spirit of legacy inspires OHSU’s most committed donors and friends. The President’s Society acknowledges these donors whose vision and generosity is driving OHSU into a future of limitless possibility.
