Serving Oregon

OHSU and Oregon together for health

Communities across Oregon want access to the best health care and health education. OHSU medical professionals, teachers and researchers help by:

  • Providing care to underserved people.
  • Using the education process to extend the reach of health care.
  • Engaging in research vital to public health.
  • Ensuring access to the latest medical advances.
  • Connecting with other providers so patients can receive care close to home.

OHSU extends its three primary missions — teaching, healing and discovery — to the entire 96,000 square miles of Oregon and beyond.

Sky Lakes Medical Center

The 100,000-square-foot Sky Lakes Collaborative Health Center opened in Klamath Falls in January 2020 to expand rural access to primary care and other services. The $50 million center is a joint project of OHSU and Sky Lakes Medical Center.

It was built to house:

  • The headquarters of the OHSU Campus for Rural Health, a program with sites across Oregon that serve students in medicine, nursing, dentistry and other fields.
  • The OHSU Cascades East Family Medicine Residency and clinic, a program that trains doctors in family medicine
  • The Sky Lakes Primary Care Clinic, bringing several locations under one roof.
