As part of OHSU, Oregon’s only academic health center, Doernbecher is uniquely capable of providing the region’s most advanced clinical care, conducting cutting-edge research and training tomorrow’s pediatric healthcare specialists. For the past 80 years, that combination has translated into hope for the families of Oregon, southwest Washington and the region beyond.
Doernbecher’s exceptionally skilled – and exceptionally compassionate – team of physicians, nurses, social workers, and allied health professionals tackles some of the most complex health issues facing children today: cancer, heart disease, neurological disorders, metabolic conditions, weight-regulation disorders and much more. Our internationally renowned scientists are focused on basic and applied studies shedding new light on the causes of, and potential cures for, these and other devastating diseases of childhood. Together these outstanding clinicians and researchers mentor some of the nation’s most promising trainees in pediatric medicine, ensuring a future of ever-improving care for our region’s children.
But Doernbecher has never gone it alone. Without the devotion, generosity and hard work of thousands of donors, Doernbecher would be far less able to provide our region with its most comprehensive range of pediatric healthcare services.
