John Scott |
John Scott was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2003 in honor of his seminal work in the field of signal transduction. Scott is the first Vollum scientist to be recognized in this manner. Scott also received an Oregon Discovery award in 2004. Susan Amara, who left the Vollum to become chair of the Department of Neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh, was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 2003. Richard Goodman, elected to the National Academy in 2002, was inducted in 2003. Michael Forte received a Faculty Excellence in Education award from the School of Medicine for 2003–2004 in recognition of his contributions to graduate education. The 2003 John A. Resko Faculty Excellence in Research and Mentoring award was presented to Roger Cone.
