Annual Meeting 2009

The Pacific NorthWest Regional Center of Excellence held its Kickoff Meeting on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, on the West Campus of Oregon Health & Science University.  Opening remarks were provided by Joseph Robertson, M.D., President of Oregon Health & Science University, John Slattery, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research & Graduate Education at University of Washington, Daniel Dorsa, Ph.D., Vice President of Research at Oregon Health & Science University and Nancy Haigwood, Ph.D., Director of Oregon National Primate Research Center. Each of the Principal Investigators gave a description of their research project or core. Scott Landfear, Ph.D. of Oregon Health & Science University, and Ashlee Moses, Ph.D. of Oregon Health & Science University, gave descriptions of the responses to the RFA’s posted for career development awards and developmental projects.  Rona Hirschberg, Ph.D. and Michael Schaefer, Ph.D. of NIH/NIAID, presented an overview of the RCE Program.    Jon Rue, University of Washington, presented the data dissemination, data sharing and computational infrastructure.  Please see agenda of meeting.
