Postdoctoral Fellowships:
Postdoctoral Position 21
Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute. Immediate position available for a post-doctoral fellow with cellular and molecular immunology experience to study HIV/SIV immunopathogenesis and the development and homeostasis of protective, memory T cell responses in HIV/SIV and CMV infections of humans and non-human primates. Background in basic cellular immunology and molecular biology techniques is essential; flow cytometry experience is preferred. Please send curriculum vitae and the names of 3 references (with email addresses)to: Dr. Louis J. Picker, Associate Director, Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute; Oregon Health Sciences University -- West Campus, 505 NW 185th Ave. Beaverton, OR 97006, pickerl@ohsu.edu.
Postdoctoral Position 67
Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute/Located at our West Campus in Beaverton. A post-doctoral position is immediately available to study mechanisms underlying long-term antiviral T cell and B cell memory. Our research interests include; 1) analysis of virus-specific T cell functions such as responsiveness to peptide and/or cytokine-mediated activation at the cellular and molecular levels in an in vivo model of acute viral infection, 2) analysis of humoral immunity and the induction of long-lived plasma cells following vaccination with inert antigens, and 3) analysis of virus-specific T cell and B cell-mediated immunity following immunization against smallpox. Successful applicants will have a strong background in immunology and/or virology and an enthusiasm for learning new techniques in each of these fields of research. Please send C.V. and three letters of reference to: Mark Slifka, Assistant Professor, Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute, Oregon Health Sciences University – West Campus 505 NW 185th Avenue, Beaverton OR 97006. e-mail: Slifkam@ohsu.edu
Postdoctoral Position 121
T-CELL IMMUNOLOGY in mice and primates. Key responsibilities include working on the biology of cytotoxic T cell responses against intracellular pathogens in mouse and monkey models; and, for a laboratory manager, also performing tasks and overseeing operations necessary for the function of a research team of 6-12 people. A postdoctoral and/or laboratory manager position is available at the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute of the Oregon Health & Science University, in Portland, OR to investigate CD8 T-cell development, function and homeostasis in health, disease and aging in primate and rodent models. Cellular immunology training is essential for this position. Detailed description of laboratory interests and list of publications can be found at . Applicants should forward c.v. and three letters of reference to: Janko Nikolich-Zugich, MD, Ph.D., Professor and Senior Scientist, Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute, OHSU West Campus 505 NW 185th Avenue, Beaverton, OR 97006. Postdoctoral Position Available
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Klaus Früh to study immune evasion of zoonotic poxviruses (monkeypoxvirus and cowpoxvirus). We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in the generation of recombinant poxviruses, poxvirus genetics and poxvirus genomics. This project will be performed in collaboration with the laboratories of Dr. Mark Slifka (poxvirus immunology) and Dr. Scott Wong (non-human primate models of viral infection) at the Vaccine and Gene Therapy Institute, Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, Oregon. Interested applicants are encouraged to send their CV to Valerie Charles (charlesv@ohsu.edu). Please also include the names of three references. Further information can also be obtained by contacting Dr. Früh (fruehk@ohsu.edu) and from the Früh lab web-page: CLICK HERE
