NATIONAL SUICIDE PREVENTION STRATEGY HEARING ARRIVES IN PORTLANDOHSU One of Four Sites for Surgeon General's Office to Take Public CommentPORTLAND, Ore. - The U.S. Surgeon General's Office will hold one of four nationwide public hearings on the National Suicide Prevention Strategy on Tuesday, Oct. 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Oregon Health Sciences University Auditorium. The hearings seek to include public comment on the strategy's draft goals and objectives. The hearing will begin with a videotaped greeting from U.S. Surgeon General David Satcher, M.D., Ph.D., and a welcome from Joseph Bloom, M.D., dean of the OHSU School of Medicine. The day's schedule is as follows:
