Introduction

Pancreas transplantation at OHSU began in 1987. Most pancreas transplants here, as at other centers, are done in conjunction with kidney transplants. Referred to as simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplants, or SPKs, 115 of the 131 pancreas transplants performed at OHSU through December 31, 2007, were SPKs.
