Introduction

Pancreas transplantation at OHSU began in 1987. Most pancreas transplants here, as at other centers, are done in conjunction with kidney transplants. Referred to as simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplants, or SPKs, 152 of the 170 pancreas transplants performed at OHSU through December 2012 were SPKs.
