Introduction

Liver transplantation at OHSU began in 1988 and was Medicare certified in 1993. Our program operates as a consortium with the Portland VA Medical Center (PVAMC). The same skilled, experienced clinical team serves both facilities, which are adjacent to each other and joined by a skybridge that affords a stunning view of Portland.

Superior Care and
Technological Innovation

Excellent pretransplant and posttransplant care and cutting-edge technology are the hallmarks of the OHSU Liver Transplant Program.

Quality of Life

Twenty years of experience has produced quality patient and graft survival with one-year rates comparable to the national norm (source: Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients, www.ustransplant.org).
