Mycobacterium Drugs: Treatment of Multi-Drug Resistant Mycobacterial Infections

OHSU # 2124

Technology Overview:

Researchers at Oregon Health & Science University and at the Portland VA Medical Center have discovered and are working to optimize a novel class of compounds for treatment of mycobacterium infections. The anti-mycobacterial agents are effective at inhibiting lipid transporter MmpL3, a highly conserved target amongst a variety of mycobacterium including M. smegmatis, M. tuberculosis, M. avium, M. avium paratuberculosis, M. bovis, M. bovis BCG, and M. leprae.
