Call for Abstract Reviewers:
WIN has issued its annual Call for Abstract Reviewers in preparation for the 2010 WIN Conference. The abstract reviews will be done online. The sign up to review is also online at: http://win.confex.com/win/2010/cfr.cgi
Reviewers must meet the following criteria:
- Be a current WIN member;
- Have previously completed at least one postdoctoral review activity;
- Have an earned doctorate degree; and
- Be available to review 12 to 15 abstracts between November 1 to 20, 2009 (we won’t know the exact number until the abstract submission deadline passes on October 21.)
Mentored Review Opportunity:
WIN offers the opportunity for a mentored review process to its members who have not previously completed at least one postdoctoral review activity. This option pairs a new reviewer with an experienced reviewer who can explain the review process, and the scoring process and rationale. If you have not previously reviewed abstracts and want to be assigned to a mentor, please indicate “no” on Question 2 on the sign-up form. You will then be given an additional question to answer. When we make the review assignments, you will be paired with an experienced reviewer. Note: The abstract review can be for an organization other than WIN and count as a postdoctoral review activity.
The form this year also asks if experienced reviewers are interested in serving as a mentor. If you are willing to mentor someone new to the review process, please respond affirmatively to Question 3 on the form.
Abstract Deadline:
The deadline for abstract submission is Wednesday, October 21, 2009. We hope you are getting your abstracts submitted, and please remind your colleagues of the deadline.
If you need any information or you have questions, please contact us at win@ohsu.edu
