Description: The dramatic increase in the use of clinical simulation in many nursing school curricula demands a parallel commitment to training faculty to effectively use this pedagogy. This hands-on, 1-day workshop describes the components of a successful faculty development program for clinical simulation. Topics include an overview of the educational foundations of simulation as an educational practice, setting goals and objectives for the simulation experience, writing and/or using scenarios, teaching/learning strategies with simulation, debriefing, evaluation, and opportunities to conduct research about the simulation experience.
