Governor-at-Large
|
|
Judith Gedney Baggs, PhD, RN, FAANSenior Associate Dean for Academics and Professor |
I presented at WIN in 1991 and 2000. I re-joined WIN in 2005 when I moved to OHSU and reviewed research abstracts for the conference last year and this year. My previous work in similar organizations includes membership in the Eastern Nursing Research Society from 1990-2006, serving on these committees: Awards, Conference Program Planning, co-chairing Abstract Review, and serving as Board Member at Large. I was a member of the New York State Nurses Association Council on Nursing Research from 1999 – 2001. My goal would be to learn more about WIN while actively participating in the work of the organization.

My educational background and extensive experience in nursing education, administration and research, as well as my previous service on the WIN Board qualify me for the position of Governor-at-Large. My desire to serve on the Board is motivated by the contributions I can make to it: assuring continued sound fiscal management of WIN, procuring additional resources for it, and participating in the implementation of it strategic plan. I believe strongly in WIN's mission and have been committed to serving it for 20 years. I would be honored to represent the membership on the Board.

Anne Marie Kotzer, PhD, RNNurse Researcher

My goal is to support the mission of WIN by bringing to the table voices of practicing staff and building strong partnerships among nurses in practice, education, and research. I have been an active member of WIN for 20 years, presenting at annual conferences and serving on the Nominating, Development, and Award Selection Committees. I believe it is essential for WIN to continue to grow and sustain its fiscal resources to expand member benefits and secure a strong future. I have served on local and national Boards of Directors and would be honored to work toward developing WIN as the premier organization for nurses in the West.

Governor Representative of Nursing Research |
|
Margaret Heitkemper, PhD, RN, FAANProfessor and Chairperson |
I am delighted to be considered for the position of WIN Governor Representative of Nursing Research. I have been attending WIN conference since 1976 and have long benefited from the collaboration of many WIN members. WIN as a regional nursing research organization fulfills an important role for researchers, clinicians as well as educators. As we look forward to the future for nursing science development, WIN can play an important role in the fostering and highlighting of interdisciplinary research from the bench to the bedside. As a member of the WIN Board, I would like to play an active role in that process.

Marie L. Lobo, PhD, RN, FAANProfessor |
I began my participation in WSRN as a doctoral student, from 1979 until 1986. I returned to the west in 2003, after participating in MNRS and SNRS, and became a member of the Program Committee and served as local planning chair 2006. In 2006 I was appointed to the unexpired term of Governor Representative of Nursing Research. I will continue on the Planning Committee and will be organizing the poster session judging for the 2007 meeting. My goal is to continue promoting research and research dissemination in the west as well as continue building strong linkages with clinical agencies.

Nominating Committee: Position 3
|
|
Shannon R. Dirksen PhD, RNAssociate Professor
|
I am seeking this opportunity to have a more active role in the WIN organization. I have a long history and interest in WIN starting in 1986 when I presented at the research conference as a doctoral student. I have since attended eleven research conferences and through networking have gotten to know many members. My prior faculty appointments have allowed me to assume leadership roles in a variety of situations and environments. If selected for this position, I will facilitate and assist other committee members in presenting a slate of candidates to the WIN Member Assembly. |
Alison Mann, EdD, MSN, RNAssociate Professor |
The possibility of serving on the nominating committee of WIN interests me for several reasons. Having served in nursing and hospital administration, I recognize how important it is to find the right person to fill a position for an organization's success. I can contribute to the WIN board as a representative of a smaller school nominating individuals who represent diversity, and will share ideas and creative solutions that keep a Board energetic and future-oriented. My goals include continued support for nursing research, enhancing collegial relationships and promoting WIN as an organization that enhances leadership in nursing. |
