HIPAA
and Respect at the University
As part of the HIPAA privacy standards, OHSU is required to educate
all members of its workforce on how HIPAA will affect their role
at OHSU. OHSU's workforce includes all employees, students, faculty,
staff, and volunteers. OHSU has developed a computer based education
program called “Privacy and You.” All students are required to complete
the tutorial prior to the start of classes and return a
copy of their certificate to the Office of Admissions.
Respect at the
University, another University required training module, is also
available online. Please visit http://www.ohsu.edu/cc/ed/bb/
to complete HIPAA and Respect at the University.
If you are a
new student, please choose Get Started | Register Here, then choose
New OHSU Student - student ID not assigned. The trainings will require
approximately two hours total to complete. You may save and continue
later as necessary. |
| CPR
All students must show evidence of current certification in CPR training for Health Care Providers (includes infant, child and adult). This regulation is required by all clinical agencies. For information regarding CPR training classes required for your specific campus, please check your specific campus site linked below for details. Note: Incoming students to the Portland campus must take a health provider CPR course through the American Heart Association.
Finding a CPR course can sometimes take up to six weeks, so we recommend students begin looking for a course now. We recommend that students look for a course that has a 2 year expiration date v ersus a one year expiration date.
