Important Dates

APRIL 2008

Student and Faculty Awards

There are numerous awards that graduating students may be nominated for by both their peers and faculty, along with student-nominated outstanding faculty awards.  It is a great opportunity to honor those that have made a difference to the SON and award their efforts.  All awards are kept a secret until announced at the SON Convocation (except the Dean’s Award)!
Please watch your GroupWise email for nomination forms in March and please participate.

All Award nominations due April 7.

Undergraduate Nursing Pins

The tradition of a faculty member pinning the official OHSU nursing pin to the gown of the graduate is long and revered.  We ask that only the official pin be used and it may be purchased from Klein Jewelers in Portland.  If you prefer not to purchase a pin, you may shake hands instead of handing a pin to the faculty on stage.

Form due to Klein by April 1l.

In order to participate in School of Nursing Convocation and/or OHSU Commencement ceremonies students must apply for graduation using the OHSU Registrar’s Application for Degree form and successfully complete all requirements for their program by the end of Spring term.
