Students with Disabilities Information

Commitment of the School of Nursing

The OHSU School of Nursing is committed to providing equal access to qualified students who experience a disability in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Qualified students with disabilities have the right to request accommodations and will be provided with those accommodations which meet their needs and are appropriate.

Disabilities Covered by the ADA

Students with disabilities who may receive accommodations under the ADA experience learning, physical, sensory, vision, health, or psychological disabilities which substantially affect a major life activity (e.g., reading, writing, walking, communicating, seeing, hearing, etc.) Many students have "hidden" disabilities covered by the ADA such as learning, Attention Deficit Disorder, depression, HIV/AJDS, diabetes, and arthritis.

Student Disclosure of Their Disability is Strongly Encouraged

Students who experience a disability are strongly encouraged to inform the Program Accommodation Liaison (PAL) at their campus.
