CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2003 OHSU NURSES OF THE YEAR

One hundred twenty-four nurses were nominated for nurse of the year and were recognized May 7 for their professionalism and excellence in care. In addition to the seven cluster area awards and the Nurse of the Year award, two new awards were granted: LPN of the Year by Ambulatory Services and Special Award (this year the Courage to Lead) by the Nurses Week Planning Committee.

The honored nurses of the year were:

• Jan Weisgerber, R.N., B.S.N.,C.E.N., OHSU Nurse of the Year
• Annie Logan, R.N., OHSU Nurse Leader of the Year
• Cheryl DesRuisseaux, R.N., Perioperative Services Nurse of the Year
• June Diehl, R.N., Acute Care Nurse of the Year
• Colleen Howard, R.N., Pediatrics Nurse of the Year
• Kathleen Murray, R.N., B.S.N., C.C.R.N., Critical Care Nurse of the Year
• Susan Pastor, R.N., Ambulatory Nurse of the Year
• Victoria Risinger, L.P.N., Ambuatory LPN of the Year
• June Walker, R.N., Women's Health Nurse of the Year
• Bonnie Driggers, R.N., M.S., M.P.A., Courage to Lead Award – 2003
