continues to be a leader in the world of nursing education. This year
the nurse-midwifery master's program ranked first in the nation! Overall,
the School ranked sixth among schools of nursing in the nation, tying
with Johns Hopkins University. To read more about the just announced U.S.
News & World Report university rankings, go to: Bills recently introduced
to Congress aim at assisting nurses and nurse educators with their student
loans. The Teacher and Nurse Support Act and the Nurse Loan Forgiveness
Act would erase up to $17,500 in student loan debt for nurses. For details
about the future loan forgiveness programs for nurses, go to: The School of Nursing has
had the pleasure of working with several families recently who wanted
to turn difficult experiences into avenues to help nursing students. An
initiative in Klamath Falls and one in La Grande have resulted in new
scholarship funds established to transform personal challenges to the
