| Inclement Weather at SOU Severe weather conditions, especially during the winter, may bring about curtailment of classes or daily work operations. Please keep in mind that the decision to close the University during such severe conditions rests exclusively with the University President or designee. In the event of extreme inclement weather, please follow these instructions: 1. If you wish to confirm that the University will be open, call after 6:00 a.m. for information regarding the Ashland campus 552-7672, or for information regarding the Medford campus 552-8100. You will hear a recorded message regarding any possible closure. 2. Tune in and listen to the following radio and TV stations to stay on top of the situation:
3. Staff may be contacted by their immediate supervisor in the event of closure due to inclement weather. If the decision is made prior to the beginning of your regular work schedule, your supervisor will attempt to notify you as early as possible, but not later than 7:00 a.m. 4. REMEMBER, staff that provide essential services, e.g., security, Cascade food services, and select Physical Plant staff, etc., will be expected to report to work unless SPECIFICALLY notified to the contrary by their supervisors. 5. Still in doubt? If you have not been contacted by your immediate supervisor, and you have reason to believe your program or activity will be curtailed due to poor weather conditions, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to contact your supervisor to find out for sure.
