| TRANSFER
APPLICANT INFORMATION
There are two types
of transfer applicants; students transfering from a non-OHSU nursing program
and inter-campus transfers. Please see below for details regarding each.
Transfer
Applicants (from a non-OHSU nursing program):
If you are currently enrolled in a nursing program outside of the OHSU
system, and would like to transfer to the OHSU School of Nursing, then
you can apply to our undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral programs
at any point, but spaces are only available on a “space available
basis”. Although many nursing programs have the same title, the
coursework and the content of specific courses are often different. Before
making your decision to apply as a transfer student, please review the
program details in our course catalog to get an idea of the scope and
philosophy of the OHSU nursing program that you are interested it.
Application
Details:
Applicants can be considered for admission to the fall, winter, or spring
terms and need to submit their application and materials at least one
term ahead of the quarter to which they wish to enter. Transfer applicants
need to submit a paper application and all required supplemental application
materials in order for their file to be reviewed. Once admitted, your
previous nursing courses would then be evaluated by our program staff
and our Registrar to see which credits will transfer over. Note: Transfer
students may need to re-take nursing coursework if the previous course
descriptions do not cover the content described in the OHSU SoN coursework.
Application
Materials:
• SoN paper application
• Transcripts from all institutions attended
• Course catalog from current nursing program
• Letter from Dean of current nursing program indicating good academic
standing.
• Letter from applicant indicating why transfer is being requested.
Inter Campus Transfer (Current OHSU
nursing students only):
Students
that are currently enrolled and in good academic standing in a nursing
program at one of OHSU’s School of Nursing campuses or one of the
OCNE partner schools may request to transfer from one campus or institution
to another. Students in this situation must contact the Dean or Program
Director at their current campus or institution and request that they
notify the Dean or Program Director at the other location about the transfer
request. Transfers among OHSU School of Nursing campuses or OCNE partner
schools are made on a space available basis. Students will be notified
of their transfer status by the appropriate Dean’s or Program Directors.
