Program Requirements for Ph.D. Program
Please see the international applicant web page if you are a resident of a country other than the United States. The following are the requirements for admission into the OHSU School of Nursing Ph.D. Degree Program:
Prior Degree
A bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program. May have a graduate degree in nursing or another related field.
Faculty Match
A fit between student's interest and faculty research is an important part of the admissions review process. Please review our faculty profiles and identify at least 2 faculty members who have your same research interest. It is strongly recommended that you contact these faculty to get more information about our program and the fit with our research interests before you apply. Find your faculty match.
Competitive GPA (typically 3.5 or greater graduate and/or undergraduate)
Graduate Record Exam (GRE) Scores
GRE scores competitive (minimum combined score of 1000 for verbal and quantitative)
RN Status Licensure
In order to apply:
- Must be eligible for Oregon licensure.
- Students outside Oregon require an Oregon limited RN license.
In order to matriculate:
- International applicants are required to obtain a Oregon limited RN license.
- Distance and Out of State applicants are required to obtain an Oregon RN license once they matriculate.
- Oregon campuses require an Oregon full RN license.
