TALENT Career Series

This Series is devoted to seminars and workshops on career development and leadership for the academic physician in areas that are of particular importance for female and junior faculty. Topics in this series include time management, negotiation, communication, presentation skills, balancing work and family, and promotion at OHSU. An interactive format provides opportunities for SOM faculty to gain exposure to a broad range of professional development topics taught by a multidisciplinary group of experts.

Getting the Most from your Annual Review

This session is designed to guide you through your annual faculty review process regardless of your department or division. This session will be useful to both basic science and clinical faculty. We will cover the essential components of the Annual Review, discuss tips for Strategic Career Management and help you prepare for your next review. The presenters have a wealth of knowledge to share from departmental and SOM P&T committee experience.

New Faculty Orientation

"Faculty Life at OHSU-Introduction for New Faculty," an orientation program for all new faculty in the School of Medicine, is held in the Fall and Spring.

New faculty members are cordially invited to attend and learn valuable information about OHSU and the School of Medicine. The program will help new faculty identify strategies for developing a successful academic career at OHSU. Presentations will include information regarding research opportunities, resources for educators, clinical and academic service, and opportunities for career advancement at OHSU.

This orientation program will also be of interest to SOM faculty members who have been at OHSU for only a year or two.
