  1. Clinical Sign-in, Mondays. The purpose of this conference is to review the in-patients and active out-patients on the cardiology service. The weekend fellow on-call presents the service to the division. Mandatory.
  2. Medical/Surgical Conference, Mondays. Our combined cardiology/cardiothoracic surgery conference is organized into three components. First, the patients scheduled for surgery during the following week are presented for review and discussion. A brief patient history is presented followed by imaging and catheterization data. Second, the patients scheduled for catheterizations during the following week are briefly reviewed. Third, patients being considered for surgery, or patients with complex clinical issues are discussed in detail. The fellow on-call the prior weekend presents all echos shown at the conference. The catheterization data and images are presented by the fellow involved in the procedure, or the faculty if no fellow assisted. Mandatory.
  3. Pediatric Cardiology Fellows Conference, Wednesdays and Fridays. A rotating curriculum providing comprehensive coverage of pediatric cardiology topics during the three-year fellowship. Echo, EP, Cath and outpatient cardiology topics are presented every 6 weeks. Evidence-based reviews of complex clinical issues are presented by a fellow and faculty mentor twice per year per fellow. Chapters of the Moss & Adams text are presented in a Board-Review Format every 6 weeks. Other basic topics are covered annually. Mandatory.
  4. Basic Sciences / Physiology Seminar, Fridays. This is an excellent educational experience put together by the Adult Cardiology Service and staffed by faculty from Adult Cardiology, Basic Sciences departments, and occasionally Pediatric Cardiology. The topics vary on a 3-year rotational basis. Fellows are expected to participate in the review of articles.
  5. "TOFS" Conference, Fridays. A research conference for presenting new or preliminary data. It is attended by fellows, graduate students, and staff from Adult and Pediatric Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery and Basic Science Divisions. The forum offers an excellent exposure to the variety of research being done within the institution.
