Pediatric Adolescent Health Rotation The Adolescent Health Rotation was developed in 1996 for 3rd year pediatric residents, as a one-month community-based experience. The rotation includes weekly small group discussions to help residents develop an understanding of adolescent health issues. Resident educational experiences include: a homeless clinic, School-based Health Clinics, Adolescent Psychiatry, and a clinic specializing in eating disorders. Establishing and maintaining these relationships is extremely important to maintaining a successful community-based educational experience. Internal Medicine Adolescent Health Rotation Since 1997, the Division has been responsible for providing educational experiences for between 3 and 5 internal medicine residents per month either as part of a 1 month rotation or as a yearlong continuity clinic site. The educational site is located at a local homeless clinic. Residents participate in weekly small group discussions. Graduate Education, OHSUFaculty members of the Division of Adolescent Health are frequently involved in both small and large group discussion concerning issues that affect adolescents. Invited lectures include: medical and nursing students, nurse practitioners, residents (OB, family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine), and physician assistant students. Faculty members are also frequently invited to present to community providers. Fourth year medical students participate in care provided at a local homeless clinic.
