Mission Statement
We believe that all people worldwide deserve the opportunity for a healthy
life. Because the resources exist to reduce health disparities, we believe
that current inequities are not acceptable. Finally, we believe that we
have both the responsibility and the ability to achieve greater global health
equity.
To reduce international health disparities, our group promotes
global health awareness, education and advocacy at OHSU. We facilitate opportunities
for students to visit other countries to learn about health care in diverse
cultures and settings. Finally, we use our global health awareness to serve
the health care needs of our local community.
Through Global Health Alliance activities, we hope to increase OHSU collaboration with the
global health community in order to promote health equity for all people
worldwide.

Great Resource for Global Health Interventions Now Available!
A valuable reference, “Disease Control Priorities in Developing Countries” has just been released in its second version by the Disease Control Priorities Project (DCPP). DCPP has made a wealth of global health data available for download from its website. Check out the searchable database of health interventions too. The DCPP is a joint effort by the WHO, Fogarty International Center, World Bank, and others to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of global health interventions.
