Carol Blenning, MD
Assistant Professor
After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Biology from Stanford University in 1984, Dr, Blenning went on to receive her M.D. from the University of California, San Diego in 1988. Currently she holds the position of Assistant Professor at OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond. She has numerous presentations including: Adolescent Medicine, Maternity Care, Native American Health and Immigrant Health Issues, to name a few. Dr. Blenning is also fluent in Spanish.
Cliff Coleman, MD, MPH
Assistant Professor
Dr. Coleman is a native Oregonian. He received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and medical degree from Stanford University, and completed a dual residency in Family Medicine and Public Health & Preventive Medicine at OHSU in 2004, with a Master's of Public Health from Portland State University.
His clinical interests include health care for underserved individuals and populations. Research interests include the affects of literacy on health and health care.
Sumathi Devarajan, MD
Instructor
Dr. Devarajan graduated from medical school in India and completed a Family Medicine residency in 2001 and a fellowship in Geriatrics in 2002 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her primary focus is Family Medicine with a special interest in Geriatrics. Dr. Devarajan was hired on November 2002 as instructor for OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond.
Nick Gideonse, MD
Assistant Professor, Medical Director, Associate Residency Director
Dr. Gideonse received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1991. He completed residency training at Oregon Health & Science University and was appointed chief resident for the 1993-94 academic year. He practiced in Cottage Grove, Oregon for eight years before returning to OHSU. He has also lived and worked in China.
He is Assistant Professor at OHSU Family Medicine, and Medical Director of OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond.
He enjoys motorcycling, sailing, skiing, and live music.
Laura Hanks, PA
Assistant Professor
Laura Hanks received her BS in Sociology and English Literature at Lewis and Clark. She completed her physician assistant training at the University of Washington and was board certified in 1985 and received her Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Laura has extensive experience in women`s health and adult care.
Research and scholarship interests are "Quality Improvement for Diabetes Care at OHSU and Interdisciplinary Teamwork and Training.
Laura is Assistant Professor at OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond.
She enjoys gardening, camping, and cross-country skiing.
Emily Jacobsen, PA-C
Ms. Jacobsen received her bachelor’s degree from the Evergreen State College in Washington State, and her master’s degree as a certified physician assistant from OHSU.
She joined OHSU’s Richmond Family Health Center in 2004, where she enjoys caring for patients of all ages. She also teaches in the medical school and physician assistant program.
Emily enjoys long bike rides, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and hiking in the mountains.
Bruce Marks, DC, FNP-C
Instructor
Bruce received his Master of Nursing (FNP) from Oregon Health & Science University in 2003. He graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1986 with a Doctorate of Chiropractic (summa Cum Laude).
He will be practicing at OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond starting March, 2004 as a Family Nurse Practitioner/instructor.
John P. Muench, MD
Assistant Professor, Director of Behavioral Science
John received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI in 1989. He subsequently served his residency at West Suburban Hospital Family Practice in Oak Park, Illinois.
Dr. Muench is an Assistant Professor and director of Behavioral Science at OHSU Family Medicine. He completed his NRSA Post Doctorate Fellowship in Primary Care Research in 2001. He is a Clinician Teacher, and sees patients at the OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond.
He enjoys time with his family, playing guitar, swimming and playing basketball.
Oleg I. Reznik, MD
Instructor
Dr. Reznik was born in Odessa, Ukraine. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience at New York University and MD degree at SUNY Downstate. After completing a family medicine residency program at SUNY Stony Brook, Dr. Reznik moved to Salem Oregon where he worked at a not for-profit clinic for the underserved, and developed a small practice of his own using a holistic approach to health. Dr. Reznik has been practicing a full range family medicine.
His personal interest in the healing potential of the mind has led him to a nine year apprenticeship with a teacher of Mental Imagery. Dr. Reznik is currently completing a course of study at The American Institute for Mental Imagery.
Dr. Reznik is an instructor at OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond.
