Mary Masterson, MPH, MPA
Ms. Masterson received her dual-master degrees in Public Health and Public Administration from Portland State University in 1996. She received her bachelor’s in dental hygiene from OHSU in 1978.She provided clinical dental hygiene services in private dental practices prior to working at OHSU’s School of Dentistry in 1986. She assisted in implementing a dental service at a local long-term facility in 1983. She managed the OHSU School of Dentistry’s Faculty Dental Practice prior to joining the Department of Family Medicine.
She holds a faculty appointment of Instructor in the Department of Family Medicine. She assisted the Department with the planning and implementation of its videoconferencing systems. She has been an information technology consultant for several of the department’s grants and provided database and website expertise for the Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network (ORPRN).
Ms. Masterson is the creator and program manager for the OHSU FM Adoption Health Services program that was established in early 2006. She has first-hand experience with the adoption process as an adult Korean adoptee and adoptive mother of two Chinese daughters.
She is also assisting the interim residency director with several quality improvement evaluation projects.
Her professional interests include adoption research and utilization of information technology for research and education.
Her personal interests include community service, participating in adult adoptee and adoption group activities, working on the computer, and spending time with her family.
