OHSU's main campus sits just minutes away from the heart of Portland, Oregon's largest city. Located on nearby Marquam Hill, OHSU overlooks the Willamette River Valley, downtown Portland, and Portland's extensive eastside.

Picturesque as it is, getting to the main OHSU campus can be challenging if you're not sure where to go.

Directions

From the Northwest:
Travel southeast on Hwy. 30 (St. Helens Road) toward city center, following the signs to I-405. Take I-405 toward Salem: exit at SW 6th Ave.(exit #1C, staying in the right lane) and follow the signs to the OHSU campus.

From the Lake Oswego Area:
Travel north on Macadam Ave. Turn left on Boundary St. just past the Johns Landing Water Tower. Proceed one block and turn right on Corbett Ave.: then left on Hamilton St. crossing Barbur Blvd. Turn right on Terwilliger Blvd. and follow the signs to the OHSU campus.

From Southeast Portland: 
Travel north on McLoughlin Blvd. or west on Powell Blvd. Cross the Willamette River via the Ross Island Bridge and take the City Center exit. Follow Corbett Ave. (staying in the left lane) as it turns into Kelly Ave. then Arthur St. and then Caruthurs Ave. Stay in the far left lane so that you will be able to turn left on SW 6th Ave. and follow the signs to the OHSU campus.

From the North: 
Travel south on I-5: cross the Willamette River via the Marquam Bridge, following the signs to City Center / Beaverton. Take the SW 6th Ave. exit (exit #1C). Get in the left lane immediately and turn left on College St. Turn left on Broadway (staying in the right lane) and follow the signs to the OHSU campus. Or, travel south in I-5: cross the Willamette River via the Fremont Bridge (I-405), following the signs to City Center and SW 6th Ave. Take the SW 6th Ave. exit (exit #1C, staying in the right lane) and follow the signs to the OHSU campus.

From the East:
Travel west on I-84N to the juncture with I-5. Follow I-5 south toward Salem: cross the Willamette River via the Marquam Bridge, following the signs to Beaverton. Take the SW 6th Ave. exit (exit #1C). Get in the left lane immediately and turn left on College St. Turn left on Broadway (staying in the right lane) and follow the signs to the OHSU campus.

From the South:
Take the Corbett Ave. exit (exit #298) from I-5 north bound; Take Corbett Ave. turn left on Hamilton St. cross Barbur Blvd. Turn right on Terwilliger Blvd. and follow the signs to the OHSU campus. Or, travel north on I-5 and take the Terwilliger Blvd. exit (exit #297) turning left on Terwilliger Blvd. Follow Terwilliger Blvd. about 2 1/2 miles, crossing both Barbur Blvd. and Capitol Hwy. Follow the signs to the OHSU campus.

From the West:
Travel east on Hwy. 26, the Sunset Hwy. (staying in the right lane), following the signs to Salem / The Dalles. Pass through the Vista Ridge tunnel, following the signs to I-405. Take the SW 6th Ave. exit (exit #1C, stay in the far right lane) and follow the signs to the OHSU campus.

By Bus:
TRI-MET bus #8, Jackson Park, which runs about every 20 minutes from the downtown Portland transit mall, (on SW 5th Ave.) and goes directly to the OHSU campus.

Buses run every 15 minutes during weekdays and every half hour in the evenings and on Saturdays. Please call Tri-Met at 503 238-RIDE or visit the Tri-Met Web site for assistance with specific bus schedules and routes. Once you've arrived on campus, you may use the computerized Tri-Met Trip Planner available in the foyer of OHSU Hospital.

Express Tri-Met Bus Service to OHSU
OHSU contracts with Tri-Met for express bus service to and from selected Portland area neighborhoods and OHSU. These express bus routes have fewer stops and go directly to OHSU on Marquam Hill. OHSU express bus routes include:

61 -- Express service between Marquam Hill and Beaverton Transit Center
64 -- Express service between Marquam Hill and Tigard Transit Center
65 -- Express service between Marquam Hill and Milwaukie Transit Center
66 -- Express service between Marquam Hill and Hollywood Transit Center
