OHSU is committed to providing the highest quality orthodontic
treatment for children and adults. Patients are scheduled Monday
through Friday and services are provided for correction of relatively
minor to the most severe orthodontic problems. To become a patient,
we have screenings (initial exams or consultations) for orthodontic
treatment throughout the year.
Clinic Options:
There are two options for OHSU clinics where orthodontic treatment
can be provided.
One option is in the graduate orthodontic clinic where treatment
is provided by dentists who are in an advanced specialty training
program to become orthodontists. Faculty instructors supervise the
residents at each appointment. Because appointments tend to be longer,
fees for the graduate clinic are reduced relative to orthodontic
private practices.
The other option is for the faculty to provide treatment through
the Faculty Dental Practice. Faculty
who teach in the graduate clinic will directly provide treatment.
This option is similar to a private practice setting and fees are
higher than those of the graduate clinic.
How to get started:
Information regarding orthodontic screenings and patient selection
can be found using the link: Orthodontic
Patient Selection.
In some situations, full braces are not necessary and limited treatment
will provide a satisfactory result. More information on limited
treatment can be found using the link: Orthodontic
Limited Treatment. When you have a screening appointment, the
doctor will recommend if full braces or limited treatment is best
for you or your child.
If you wish to schedule a screening or if you have questions related
to orthodontic treatment at OHSU, please call our clinic at 503-494-8921
