Current Projects
Axium
Axium is the Clinic Management System for the School of Dentistry which is used by all clinical departments to assist in the academic, business, and healthcare requirements of day-to-day operations. Dental Informatics administers the database that supports the Axium application to ensure that proper performance requirements are kept above the appropriate thresholds. In addition to general support and troubleshooting, DI is charged with ensuring that application upgrades are conducted smoothly.

Curriculum Analysis Tools (CATs)
Curriculum Analysis Tools are used for accreditation purposes and to keep record and description information for all courses offered by the School.

CoursEval
Courseval is a tool that interfaces with CATs and enables students to evaluate their courses online. After evaluations are made, a number of metrics are viewable by the instructors and course directors. In addition to system maintenance, Dental Informatics coordinates all aspects of the survey and data collection processes.

Analytical Reporting
Dental Informatics uses the latest versions of Crystal Reports and Crystal Enterprise to design, create, and distribute reports from the Axium database as directed by Clinic Administration and the Dean's Office. The scope of report development is quite expansive as it reflects the academic, business, and healthcare related functionality of the Axium System.

Faculty Workstation
The Faculty Workstation is comprised of a PC, a Macintosh, several scanners, a printer, and a slide maker. Dental Informatics has partnered with ITG to provide a stable, useable work center that meets some specific needs of the faculty/ staff at the SOD.

Clinic Wireless
Dental Informatics is testing wireless networking technology as a possible augmentation to the existing hardwired network.

Graduate Endodontics Computing Environment
Dental Informatics, in cooperation with ITG, has created a highly customized computing environment for use by the Graduate Endodontics program. This system facilitates chair-side access to the Axium system, as well as the storage and retrieval of digital radiographs, digital photographs, and frame captures from live video obtained through stereoscopes.

Web Development and Administration
Dental Informatics has recently rejuvenated the entire SoD web site and is currently working on a series of significant updates to the newly created web site. DI was the first to convert to the new web infrastructure at OHSU and has pioneered other web based technologies such as the DI Intranet and the Crystal Enterprise system
