WINTER, 2006
Objectives:
The prudent endodontic post-graduate student should after this literature section be able to:
1. List the criteria for the ideal obturating material
2. Describe the purpose of obturation and the mechanism for endodontic failure in cases of inadequate obturation.
3. Describe the various obturating materials and methods available to us and the advantages and disadvantages of said techniques.
4. Describe the various in-vitro methods for evaluation of obturation techniques and be able to critique said methods.
5. Discuss the clinical and radiographic criteria for evaluationg the quality of obturation.
