Dear Alumni
and friends of the School of Dentistry,
A New Year
is upon us, and with it comes a tangible sense of energy and
excitement at the School of Dentistry. I have seen it in the
students and the faculty, and I hear it from our alumni and
donors. They all believe OHSU is truly a great place with
an exceptionally bright future!
What makes
it special is the overwhelming commitment to service and to
excellence that I have seen from everyone involved with the
school. Our students, while receiving an excellent education,
provide unparalled service to patients and to each other.
Our faculty are extremely commited to producing the best and
brightest dental professionals in the business, and they are
constantly serving the needs of our students.
Our alumni
and friends are truly active and involved partners in serving
the needs of our students, faculty and administration. It
is this overall sense of spirit, service and community that
makes me grateful to be a member of the school's leadership.
As we look
forward to 2008, the Alumni Association is adding new events
to increase the number of opportunities for you to get involved.
We hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities
to reconnect with your classmates and help mentor the current
students and future alumni.
We are also
working on several new scholarships which, through the generous
support of alumni, family and friends, will soon be endowed
and available to help lessen the financial burden on today's
students. If you have been thinking about ways in which you
would like to make a significant impact and help lay the foundation
for the school's future, I encourage you to contact me directly
to learn more about ways you can establish your legacy at
the School of Dentistry.
I'm grateful
to have the opportunity to work with you and help you realize
your vision for the dental school. Together, with your passion
and service, I know that we will reach unprecedented levels
of success. Thank you for all that you do, and let's make
2008 a year to remember!
Sincerely,
Patrick J.
